Beaujolais Nouveau, yes, but by Georges Duboeuf !

29-07-2020

From its humble beginnings, in the 1950’s, the festive spirit has always been a quintessential element of Beaujolais Nouveau.

Maison Duboeuf, who was one of the creators of this young, fruity and friendly wine, and one of the biggest promoters of the convivial concept that surrounds it, intends to put it back in the spotlights.

To do so, Duboeuf will build on the quality of the selected grapes, but also on the rare capacity that Beaujolais has shown over the years: that of getting people together, connoisseurs and wine lovers alike, on the third Thursday of November, to party in the honour of the youngest vintage and to snub the coming winter.

And make all these good intentions come true, Maison Duboeuf will launch a whole series of new labels with a festive character.

By the way, is there another wine event that can bring together so many customers and professionals?

Sure enough, in 70 years of Beaujolais Nouveau, not all vintages and not all the cuvées have been exceptional. But the wines of Maison Duboeuf, be they Beaujolais or Beaujolais Villages, are still the benchmark.

So please give them a warm welcome, on the 19th of November (when the Beaujolais Nouveau is released, this year), and spare a thought for Georges Duboeuf, aka The Pope of Beaujolais, who passed away in January.
