CVNE's 545 hectares of vineyards are located in the most prestigious wine region of Spain: Rioja.

Cune, also written as CVNE, is a Spanish winery with a rich history dating back to 1879. The name is an abbreviation for 'Compañia Vinicola del Norte de España'; the official name of the company. The wine brand 'Cune' bears the same name and is still made at its original location in Haro, Rioja Alto. The company was founded near the railway station 'barrio de la estacion'. It was the perfect place to distribute their wines directly. There was even a track that went straight into the wine cellar. This facilitated the transportation of the heavy oak barrels and (eventually) bottles.

One of the wine cellars was designed by none other than Gustave Eiffel, the architect of the Eiffel Tower. The special feature of the Eiffel wine cellar is that the roof is supported by steel trusses. This eliminates the need for pillars, which made both moving the barrels and the maintenance of the cellar much easier. Innovation is clearly part of the DNA!
